The max depends on many factors, but you should easily be able to increase the FSB to 75 MHz for a total of 863. Maybe more depending on what settings your motherboard allows.

Average in the database seems to be about 1Ghz. So you could do better, or worse. But that's a great average. Keep the temps down with good extra cooling and go for it!:D

What kind of motherboard are you using?

Check in the bios for User Define ..

And crank the FSB up slowly and I recommend a 1 hour burn-in with Sisoft Sandra and Seti or Folding for each FSB jump.

Yodum's advice sounds good to me...do it.

If I where you I would expect between 940 and 1000. I had a 733 that would max out at 968. If I where you I would try and sell the 766 and get a 850. They are only a coulpe of bucks difference. You could probably be able to sell the 766 for $45-50 on ebay and then hop on over to pricewatch and buy an 850 for $50. The reason for this is because the 850 will overclock better. You could probably get 1133mhz out of it and get, and your bus speed will be higher for better memory bandwidth.

But before you do this try to see how far you can get yours to go.

Is a 950MHz Celemine very over clockable.Has any one went past 1263.5 MHZ before??? IF so wad type of HSF should U recommend.

I can only get mine to 75 frontside without a bump up in voltage. The 733 can do 916 without the extra voltage in the same board, although my experience with all of my celerons is that 75 is a nice stable FSB without requiring either a voltage bump or a HSF other than the standard.

so true, MrX

i maybe new here, but i do have my celey 733/66 running at 1100/100 right now.. and it's running great (with several cooling features).
i would first recommend getting a good hsf.. then, if it's like mine, where it's just a larger version of the factory hsf, mount a fan on either side of the heatsink blowing air through it, one for intake and one for outtake, along with the one on top of it, it works wonders for me. also, make sure your case has good ventilation, i have an intake fan towards the bottom of my case (where the air is cooler) and a ventilation fan on top right above the process pulling that hot air out. do make sure to use thermal paste.

Im sorta stuck in the retro days......you know those late nineties 'MORE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK' kinda times........why pay for an 850 when a 766 will do 863 and no more money needed for a flashy HSF! the benefits of intel!! heh heh

Well, I have my Celeron 700@850 at 75 fsb. When trying to get it to 83 fsb, regardless of voltage, it will not complete post. I am running this processor on an Abit BH6 on a SlotKet !!! adapter with an Alpha PAL66 Heatsink with a 60 mm fan.

I've got mine running at 863 with a fat arse GlobalWin FOP-38. I can't get my FSB past 75 without upping the voltage and I don't think I can do that on my motherboard. (It's a Gigabyte GA-6VXC7-4X if anyone's interested).

Ideally I'd like to get my FSB to 100 as I'm worried about running it at 83 because people keep telling me that that puts your PCI up too high.

Anyway, just replied to let you know I'm in the same boat :)
