Is there anybody here that uses Dreamweaver???
I can't seem to find anybody to answer my question....when uploading from Dreamweaver, do I need to upload each layer?? Or can I just upload the template that I've made?

Thanks in advance for your time
Betty.

I use dreamweaver, but I use an ftp prog to upload my files.
With layers I don't think its a seperate file(the layer) that you have to save to a webpage your making,Just save page as,And it will handle the rest.
Did you try a preview in browser? If it works in there it should work after upload.

I'm with tbone1, I find it MUCH easier to use a separate FTP utility to control uploads. The Dreamweaver layer thing never seems to work right- I spend more time making sure everything got uploaded correctly after I use it than if I just used WS_FTP_LE instead!:D

Go with the FTP .. Cute FTP or FlashFXP

ah...ws_ftp_le messed up for me big time...I've tried to un-install it and re-install and it was still messed for me.....
Have tried to delete all the files associated with the ftp and re-download...still messed.
I'm getting ready to throw my computer in a lake right about now.

Anyways, ws_ftp_le has been the ftp of my choice for the past year & a half....this is the first time I've ever had problems...

Once I get it figured, I'll try uploading the template alone to see if that works...thanks for your help guys.

Which Dreamweaver are you using? Dreamweaver, or Dreamweaver DevUltra?

i use wsftple right now. works fine. dreamweaver and all of the html editors are pretty crappy. i've been writing my own html code for the past five years.

I don't use Dreamweaver for the pages themselves, I use it for the server setup. I have Dreamweaver Dev Ultra, it works a lot differently than the regular Dreamweaver, hence my earlier question.

layers are just elements on a page defined in the HTML of the page. Personally I like converting the layers to a table to give more compatibility. I should work fine just uploading the html file. E-mail me if you have any questions. BTW, I have used WS-FTP LE with no problems with Dreamweaver.
