What is the best cooling fan out there for the P4. Under 30 bucks hopefully please! It is a 1.4GHz, but it freezes after awhile, so I am thinking the fan is not despersing the heat off the heatsink to well. Thanks for the info in advanced.

it might sound stupid but make sure you have taken off the thermal pad and relpaced it with artic silver, this should give a big improvement, i can think of any p4 heatsinks

Is it a Socket 423 or a Socket 478 P4?
The best for either one is probably the Swiftech MCX462... But you're not gonna be sittin under 30 bucks with one of those. I'm not really an expert on the P4 HSFs that cool well on the cheap...

Overclockers.co.uk have a good selection cheap (UK based) but all the fans have nice big pics so you can see which is the pretty est! lol:D
All 1.4 gig P-4 CPUs are 423 pin. Intel didn't start making the 478 pin procs until the 1.5 gig. I agree with both of the previous posts. Use a good thermal paste instead of the crappy heat pad and one of the best coolers for that CPU is the Swiftec, but they are not cheap.
