I got my XP1900+ today and replaced the Duron, and without going over the 1.85V defualt MAX, I got the XP runnning fine at 1733MHz.
I also got 2 chips of Micron PC2700 CL1.3 DDR Ram. Very nice ram indeed!
I will be trying for more MHz when I got more time on the weekend.
Until then, work work work! ahh,,, boring but its gatta be done:rolleyes:

I will try for more MHz on the weekend. My motherboard was modded to go up to 2.4V, so I'll see what I can do on the weekend with this new CPU.
Current max temps go between 43c~45c MAX with Prime, 1 Hour.

yea, it took 6 days and $360.00 CAN. I got it through a good friend who owed me a favor.
but now that you asked bout ram, it kinda sux that ram prices dipped so low for people who bought before. Like, now I cant get nothing bearly for my 512MB sticks of PC2100 ram. And I got 4 kickin around now!:(

Is this CPU runs at 1.6Ghz default?
AMD AthlonXP (1900XP+) O/Ced @ 1733MHz (13x133.33)
So, how did you unlock it? I keep seeing threads about an acrylic coating on the L1 bridge nubs.

Yes it is... 12x @ 133FSB = 1.6GHz. (XP 1900+) I got the 1800+, which has the 11.5x multiplier. Damn sweet chips, IMHO.
I'd like to see a dually running a pair of these...SHAZAM!! :D

Yes, please let us know what and how you went about unlocking that. Enquiring minds want to know... :p

Unlocking the AthlonXP was a pain in the @ss. It took several trys but my dad has a soldering gun that shoots the solder through a needle tip and is very accurate
It's designed for building solder piles, bridges or filling holes. It worked great. The Crylic material was already scrapped away when I got the chip. ???? I dont know how or why thou.

Nice overclock.............. Dont suppose you have the time to post some screenshots? Especially 3D mark. A soldering gun that shoots solder through a needle tip? - now that is handy:D

I do not think we will see any screenshots from this guy any time soon. But I am optimistic, maybe this time?

1.73? That's a fairly common number. It would probably look like this...lol;

One thing I do still have is my memory.

Did micron even make that RAM available yet? i heard micron PC2700 wasn't coming out until next year.......

double post
Everyone always gets overexicted about this guys posts, yet he never provides any evidence. I dont wanna sound so optimistic, but do a search on posts made by this individual and see if you can come up with any other reaction. Give us some pics(your pics this time) and maybe we will believe you.

I wouldn't pick on him I think he has learned his lesson finally! but the screenshots would be nice.
not so sure he's making it up...w/ a stable MB and good memory you can get good results. I've got an Athlon XP 1600+ (1.4) running at 1.581(10.5x150) smooth as silkand getting scores to match a 1900+. I got a K6-2 266 on a TX97-X board to 375 and it's still running to this day.
System:
Athlon XP 1600+@ 1.581
Epox 8kha+
512 Corsair PC2400 DDR (2x256)
WD 7200 40 Gig ATA 100 HD
WD 7200 40 Gig ATA 66 HD
GeForce 2 GTS
SB PCI512

Micron do not seem to be aware that they have it available as the specifications sheets for 128 mb 333 DDR (http://www.micron.com/products/datasheet.jsp?path=/DRAM/DDR+SDRAM&fileID=676) and the specifications for Micron 256 mb 333 DDR (http://www.micron.com/products/datasheet.jsp?path=/DRAM/DDR+SDRAM&fileID=675) seem to believe that the memory is NOT CL1.3 and contacting the sales department obtained some confusion as the individual seemed to think that CL1.3 was a future development to be released later this year and that no modules have yet been made available to consumers and refered me back to the site links I posted.. strange
The sales staff said if you enter the part number in the site search it will tell you the specifications as the development modules are included in the database incase you have some of those..
So could you please tell us the part numbers :)

Micron 512MB DDR333 model:MT46AV32M16 -5.5t
(sample production 2X PCB modules)
333MHz @ CL2
333MHz @ CL2.5
266MHz @ CL1.3
266MHz @ CL2
266MHz @ CL2.5
200MHz @ CL1.3
200MHz @ CL2
200MHz @ CL2.5
p.s, When upping the FSB, I was able to get my memory to run @ 138FSB MAX (276MHz MEM) with 1.3 CAS rating!
But I think I'm gonna stay @ 1733MHz just to be on the safe side, I gatta keep the temp under 50c. ohya, I got my case temp to 21c! :D
nice one Atomic guy! finally! now nobody else give him crap!
Hey, I'd like to see the screen shots though, and since my 1800 does that out of the box some more mhz should be available.......

rogerdugans,
I saw your sig below which says your chip is unlocked, try the 13.5X Multiplier and see if you can get a strait 1.8GHz overclock. You may need to approach the 2V core voltage mark for success.
My chip was reworked to be 13X as defualt, and I dont see the need for more MHz, this processor is clearly as powerful as my 1.855GHz cpu was, maybe a little less raw, but over all, yea, its really solid.
I unlocked the chip and experimented, atomicguy, but the best oc I got at default fsb was in the high 16s somewhere. On the other hand, I get 1733 with a 150 fsb and default multiplier- but it will not take any more, either mult or fsb. Voltage is already maxed on cpu and ram.
I've posted the benches before, and I can again- I'd kind of like to see the difference between an 1800 and a 1900, if any!
You use Sandra? If so, post the benches and I'll post mine and we'll see if theres any difference!
