I had to get a PCI since (darn Compaq) my PC doesn't have a AGP port. I had a Choice between the Visiontek GeForce 2 MX400 (64 MB), or the ATI Radeon (32 MB SDR)... both were $99. I walked out of Best Buy with the Radeon, since my on-board video "chip" was ATI, and it has a $30 rebate (so I get it for $70). I have played Dark Age of Camelot, Serious Sam, and the Max Payne demo on it with no problems. Did I make the right choice?

I have 30 days to change my mind, anybody with comments please reply.... Thanks

Good choice :).

Either would have worked fine, they were both good options.

what is the real difference between the 32MB Radeon, and the 64MB GeForce? I read on the ATI website, that the "Memory Data Path" is 128 MB even on the Radeon 64MB DDR version (AGP), so what gives?

I guess this is the only PCI Radeon, so it has to be good.

Any other comments?

The MX has a 64bit memory bus and its pipelines are crippled the radeon sdr is a full radeon with slow ram......i think you made the right choice, both are about the same speed in games, but the 2D and DVD playback with the radeon is far superioir...

Good choice, imho.

you might wanna head on over to http://radeontweaker.sourceforge.net and see about pulling in a copy of RadeonTweaker. That'll let you enable the Z-buffer and overclock it a little bit.
