I decided to dl the 2001 3d mark program from Madonion. After checking it over I ran the program for the first time.
Score: 7577
Settings:
Drivers: beta 22.80
Resolution and color depth: 1024x768 32bit color
Antialiasing: off
frame buffer: double
texture format: 16 bit
Z-buffer depth:16 bit
Rendering pieline: D3D Pure hardware T&L
No overclocking, all the equipment listed below, set to standard(stable) parameters. So how does this stack???
Thats pretty good!
Me and my 670 3DMARKS 2001 Points.
(TNT 2 M64)
I would expect a-bit more from an ATI 8500.
GeForce 3s can hit that easy.

isnt 22.80 for Geforce3s?
oh well, pretty good.......that almost doubles my pro when i oc it to Ultra speeds....man.....try ocing it and tell us how it works, also were the 3dmark artifacts fixed?

Artifacts? Go into detail here, the program isnt exactly buttery smooth by nature between tests if thats what you mean.
OK update I hit 7603 with core/memory at 250/520, am trying again at 255/530, well see what it does, after i max out the video card, I will start tweaking the 1.024 gigs worth of ECC registered Crucial memory.

in previous posts you said the 8500 had artifacting in 3dmark, or are you benching a geforce3?
Ritteri&Bubbles

Yes, right now I am benching a GeForce Ti500.
I just ripped a 7658 with core/mem set to 255/530. Everything else stock. 22.80 detonatore drivers.

From the driver that you are using it sounds like a nvidia card 22.80 beta driver. I did not know their was an ATI beta 22.80 driver.
Fill us in and is the core not 275/275 on an 8500 retail from ATI. You are mentioneing something about 250/250 which would mean OEM. I believe all RETAIL ATI cards sold are at 275/275 but I have heard others grumbling about 250/250 but so far has been from other manufacturers or OEM cards.

Default: I am using a GeForce Ti500. I am getting these scores with stock settings minus the video card being slightly OCed. Wait till I start tweaking the FSB and memory. There is still a few hundred points left to be gained.

I tried OCing the TNT 2 but it dident help much.
What OC software are you using and were can I get it?
I want to try your software if I havent already.
- I may be getting a GeForce card for free from school
so it is not in my priority to mess around too much.
BUT I MUST GET BETTER SCORES,
Dont ask, its just adicting. :D :p :p :D

Not a big diff between an ATI 8500 with ****ty drivers and a GTi500 with supposedly much much better drivers. Scores are lower for the nvidia card.
I still have to give the nod to ATI and with the new drivers it is the card of the short and near future.

GeForce 3 TI 500s Have flown past the 8200 score!

Too bad ATI's stability wasnt on par with their "benchmarks" otherwise it would be a good card. High benchmarks+horrible stability still = worthless card. Would anybody just run out and buy a video card if it scored 20,000 on 2001 3Dmark in 1600x1200 32bit yet still couldnt play warcraft,NFS, and all your other favorite games reliably? I have the Radeon sitting in its box on my desk. I will pull it out again when ATI comes out with those "new drivers". The ones that will run the card properly.:D

I got the same card from a 750 default to over 1000! It was stable but I needed the fan elsewhere so now I get 960-970 with decent decent cooling(not stock). You should already have coolibits if you dl'd the latest drivers.
Detonators?
I will download detonators tonight
After I flashed the new BIOS for my MSIK7T266Pro2RU mobo, I noticed about a 150 point drop in 3dMark2001. Thing is it also fixed a few other problems. I still can't OC the fsb past 139 or OC the Ti500 without corrupting the video. I got Norton Utilities 2002 last night and ran the speed disk and halfway through it, it got hung. Hit the reset button. Posted, then the HDD weren't found any more. FastTrack couldn't find them, so I had to reset the CMOS and reset the BIOS.
I doubt I will OC this baby for awhile. I've been pretty lucky so far. I did OC at 142 and set that setting in BIOS from 4QW to 8 before I ran speed disk, so maybe one of those was the culprit. I do know that upping the FSB past 140 is a bad idea. I've used 4 different kinds of RAM and the only one that is stable at the current setting is the Samsung pc2100 DDR. I ordered 2 more sticks and should receive those today. The Corsair mem is completely unstable, even at high performance settings and no OCing. 75% failure rate to me seems 75% too high. I've handled hundreds of Intel ram over the past 12 years and none have ever failed. This RAM I ordered was tested for 2 days, so I'll know if its been mem problems all along.

ATi users:
Try OmegaDrives drivers.
http://209.145.56.247/
You'd have to be crazy to use actual ATi Drivers=P Lightspeed for the Rage chipset, Omega for the radeons. Granted, ATi has gotten better...but still~

What is your video card and drivers?
The link took me to the Madonion website not to your results.

That's weird, the link takes me right to my test results. I think you might have to sign in to Madonions gaming HQ.
Anyways, I had my system up on my sig until the forums changed a few months back but I never put them back in. guess now is a good enough time.

Funky, go to gamershq.madonion.com and on the front page, make sure you're logged in, then go to the project manager, check the box under PUB to publish the score, then click update, when it refreshes, your compare url will be under the project. done!
