The GTX comes with a very impressive cooler that is apparantly very quiet. Is there something similar on the market for the 7900 GT?

Hmmm, I'm not entirely sure of aftermarket coolers for the 7900 series cards but Zalman, Artic cooling silencers are the best in their class as far as silence & cooling is concerned for the 6800's and 7800's series. I'm sure there are other brands that are up on the top of the list as well.

The mounting system hasnt changed from the 7800 series so any of the zalman or another non-full-cover cooler will work just fine with it.

I use a Zalman VF700Cu w/ a Delta EFB0812EH on it. @ 1.4Vgpu, 640/1600, fan @ 5V it doesnt go above 60°C. @ 670/1920, and the fan @ 12V, it won't reach over 55°C. These cards run quite cool.

I just got the new Zalman 900's from Heatsink Factory(awesome transaction by the way) and the idle temps dropped from around 41c to 33c  right off the bat, so I'm, pretty impressed given the AS5 hasn't even stated to do it's job yet and they say the heat sinks aren't fully seated for 24 hours. Haven't had a chance to really stress them yet. Plus I installed both of them in about 30 minutes. :) :)
