View Full Version : what sizes?
i have high case inside temps normally and only one intake 80mm at bottom in front of it. unfortunately there is no original space to add more fans but ill soon be making them. i thought on one top fan blowing the air out and one at side suckin in just above the cpu: which would be good sizes for them concerning the 80mm i have already?
i though on two plans:
1. 120mm top fan and 60mm side plus the 80mm;
2. two 60mm top fans and one 80mm at side plus the other 80mm.
i want to keep a low positive pressure and am wondering about the top fan efficiency on sucking the air out - thats why the plan two: will the air be better forced to raise using two 60mm other than one 120mm - because the rpm?
thanks for helping.

How 'bout 120 mm in back blowing out (under p/s) 80mm in top
in middle blowing out. Go for 120mm in front blowing in.
You might think you are at the airport but it will move some air.

i cant enalrge the front space for bigger than 80mm and have no spcae to add a rear fan: can only work in the side and top.

I'd say a Panaflo 120mm L1A for both the top and side. Remember that you've got your powersupply fan too. This should keep you slightly positive and will give you an additional ~70CFM in and ~70CFM out, in addition to adding almost no additional noise (other than moving air) to your case.
Peace

im afraid of cant getting good 80mm + fans. above that ill probably be forced to buy cheap 2000rpm ones (thats why im thinking on the 60mm).
Try at least the 120 mm on top if you can't get one in back. Whatcha got in there that you can't get a fan in back? Most have a predrilled spot for rear fan.

if i use another 120mm on the side panel it will help to cool the video card too...

Buy a hole saw they cost a bit more but will make a much cleaner hole in the end. Just keep your RPMs low. On a good heavy metal case it take some time so use a little light oil to keep heat down and your hole saw will last a long time and will make many 120mm fan holes :). Oh you need 4 1/2 inch hole saw for 120mm fans.

my hole saw went through my friends case in a matter of seconds. almost fell over onto it went through so fast ;p also, id go w/ two 120mms myself. a friend got some panaflo 120s for about $7 apiece (might have been untailed) but not sure if it was from a company that is still in business anymore ;-) if it is ill let you know w/ a link.
yes, i think i better go for the two 120mm ones: top and side. thanks for all your help. i still need to go some tools store to choose.
mw521, im thankfull for the fan and shipment offer. ill see if i can find good ones around here and notice u if i need. thanks.
