Hello.Four months ago Ibought a new system with a nforce4 sli-ready mobo.At that time I figured I could add a second card some time in the future. I have read on an Nvidia site that it isn't necessary now to have exactly matching cards. (that is matching vendors), but now , after deciding to buy a second card i have been informed from experinced sources that it is still a very good idea to have them exactly matched , right down to even the actual clock speeds. I have a Albatron 7800 GT256 mb. SH. vid. card and am now trying to find a matching card , but shying away from using a different vendor as i don't want conflict issues. ...as u can imagine I'm finding it difficult to find a matching vid-card ...anyone any ideas ?...... [ ps. considering this issue of "exactly" matching cards, would the fact that my card is ( SH _..Igather this means its been factory over-clocked) is this possible to be an issue as well.]

I and many others are doing this with no problems

i have an XFX and a BFG 7800GT in my system right now and are working fine. When you boot up with both cards, the clocks will be of the slower card.

what you can do is replace the older one with the new one and see how far she overclocks. From there you should be able to find an in between speed between the 2 for everyday games/surfing.

your overclock for both cards together will be slower (mine is) and depending on your power supply, may or may not get a good overclock.

So i say go for it and see what you can get out of em :p
