Aright so I have been a little annoying (I know) with my asking for help with a temperature problem for a evga geforce 6600gt...

Everywhere I look I can only find cooling devices that are compatable with the 6600gt pci-e...I am running an AGP version. Is there a big difference between these cards?

I want to buy the Arctic Silencer. I found it on Newegg but I am scared to waste 30 bucks on something that isnt compatable with my card. Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! thank you!

For the AGP version of the 6600gt, you need a heatsink for the HSI chip (the PCI-E to AGP bridge chip, as the core is a 'native' PCI-E). Probably the easiest solution is to get a zalman vf700 w. ramsinks and a HSI heatsink (zalman product # ZM-VHS1) or something comparable.
HSI cooler:

VF700 cooler:

Is the HSI for the ram?

Artic cooling may be good, but there are other options as well. I agree, try the zalman out.

I have the Zalman on my PCIe 6600GT before I sold it. Cooling was OK but not much better from stock (from what I can tell). Don't expect huge difference because you won't get it. I'm not sure if it was worth it. Maybe you should try reseat stock heatsink with AS5. Personally, I would rather try water or something with heatpipes.

Read my first post in this thread. Or google it.

This is my problem right here.

I am running my card stock (no O.C.) and my idle temp hangs around 55 - 60 and under a load I can get up to around 101. What do you think my best bet would be?

Are you on drugs, or do you just choose not to read what others post in this thread to try and assist you? I will say it one more time, read my first post in this thread. I'm outta here.

if ur card has a separate HSI heatsink u don't need that one. And yes, the Zalman does support the AGP version (I have it on AGP 6600GT myself)
