hey all

i wanna change the look of my windows gui, and have been looking into skins.

i cant seem to find one which does not install a whole host of ad software.

are there any websites that anyone know where theme files can be downloaded and actually be opened using windows? under the themes tab in display properties?

also, if anyone knows of any good freeware programs and websites where i can download themes from, would be greatly appreciated!

thank you!

You may want to try something like Vista Transformation pack. It come with around 20 or so skins, and a few other things like new Icons and what not. http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/OS-Enhancements/Vista-Transformation-Pack.shtml

Edit: There is also sites like www.wincustomize.com though I think that any theme you get from them comes bundled with ad-ware, could be wrong though.

Yeah, glad you like it. Personally I didn't even install the things like the sidebar and the glass2k(??) program because I really just found them kind of annoying. The themes it comes with though certianly look nice IMO, nice clean and simple. Anyway though I'm sure some people know of some other good sites/programs to so maybe some more ideas will be posted, and I will try to remember the name of a site I used to use that had around 100 or so themes all adware free.

i installed them all! lol.

they really do look nice and clean which is great! and gota love the transparency effect!

that wincustomize page you put up, you can download off there, but you need a third party program! and they cost money! lol.

dont want to be messind aroung with 'free'-ware and figured it would be easier to use the theme function in windows!

I've got Stardock's StyleXP. Nice little program, I have to say - my desktop currently looks like OSX :). The only downside is that you have to pay for it.

Binny.
