well im new to O/C ing and i have a 800 athlon with a ABIT KT7-RAID and i clocked it today to a great 1000mhz after bridging the L1's.

what software do u guys use to test CPU TEMP?

I use SISOFT 2001 and 800@1000 says that cpu is 23 celcius thats awesome isnt it?

Also what is the max u should let ur cpu get to?

BIOS TEMP CHECKS ARE WRONG ARN'T THEY!!!???????

Motherboard Monitor 5 (http://mbm.livewiredev.com/) To measure temps, Fan rpm's, ect... And to find out your load temp you can use folding@home, Prime95(will also test stability).
All temp readings can be wrong. Oh welcome to the forums:D

Welcome to our little slice of home. :)

I don't trust Sandra to give accurate temps...I think it looks at the wrong sensors or something. Any temp that you're getting is looking at you BIOS temp, anyway, so I don't really see where getting a program would help alleviate that problem.

i have an abit kt7a and it came with a driver disk that had the VIA hardware monitor on it which is what i use to measure my temps. your mobo should have come with something similar (being abit and all)...if not you should still be able to find it somewhere

under the cpu socket should be a thermosistor, pus it up so it toughes the bottem of the cpu

48-53c is too high for idle temp using a tbird 1.2? (Bios temps)

I have 1 80mm fan in the front and 1 in the back.. the one in the back is functioning as an exhauster.. plus the psu fan..

Using a Volcano 6cu..

I think the best Hardware monitoring software out there right now is Hmonitor. It allows u to do all the basics, specify Celcius or farenheight but also has built in software cooling and voltage regulations, system tray icons and all sorts of neat stuffs. I didnt like MBM 5 but Hmonitor was small easy functional and practical.
