I am just wondering if anyone knows the diff between these two cards?! From what I have read, all the specs are the same, from amount of ram, to clock speed (400/490), to all the options (video out, vga/dvi output, etc).
Is the ram different perhaps (ddr2 vs ddr3), and how much diff does that really make?
The only thing that comes to mind is that the GTO2 may have much better cooling (the GTO has the worst cooling I have ever seen on any product, its almost unusable), and perhaps the GTO2 has better overclocking potential, and of course the unlockable 16 pipelines. However, even if this is true, this is not a reason a company would release the 2nd version, and certainly no reason to have the card priced $50 more!
Anyone have any real info?
ps. My GTO overclocks to 540/540 no problem, I use these speeds all the time, and it crashes only at 590/590 and higher. Of course I had to buy a VGA cooling kit (Zalman) which reduced my o/c load temp from 95C to a remarkable 61C, but still, I don't see how the GTO2 can beat this!
