Hi everybody, im a newbie to overclocking, but I consider myself pretty good with computers. I got a new comp (old mobo and ram got fried) and I am seriously looking to overclock it. Here are my Specs:

Mobo - Soyo Dragon KT266
CPU - AMD Tbird 1.4
Ram - 256 DDR PC2100 (Kingston)
Video Card - 4x AGP Diamond V770 (Riva TNT2 Chipset)
HSF - Thermaltake Volcano 6cu+
Arctic Silver 2 Thermal Compound

Now here is my comps which are totally from the bios in the mobo. I know these are pretty inaccurate from what I heard, but I have yet to actually probe the cpu while running. When I was running at 1.4 (10.5 * 133) my average temp was 46 C. I did some minor overclocking to 1.475 (forgot the multiplier * 134). Surprisingly, this actually LOWERED the temp by 2 C. I am now running at 44-46 C loaded. This is really stable and thats why I plan on oc some more. Now my question is, how do you guys get your temps on low 30's on your cpu?? does where you live have anything to do? I live in So Cal and its winter so it isnt hot at all. My ambient temp 33 C (thats the case temp) and room temp is lows 70 F (dont know the celsius on that one).

I have one fan in the back blowing in, and two giant fans which are located in the 5 1/4 drive bay sucking it out. The volcano is running at 7000 rpm. is there anything I can do to lower it to around high 30's possibly mid 30's?? I dont plan on buying a new heatsink but I plan on adding more fans. My cables are folded so I dont believe airflow is a problem. Is there any tips or are my temps perfectly fine. Thanks for your time and if you have any tips or suggestions....then please post. also, i am not afraid to get in my computer and stuff so any airflow improvments are appreciated.

They are OK temps, not great temps by any measure.

Since your not wanting to buy a new HSF, which would be the best way to signifcantly lower those temps, duct one of your current case fans, or one of your new ones to your HSF.

Best way to lower those temps is to drop that Thermalfake and go with a much more reliable cooler.

Yeah, I know NOW that the thermaltakes arent all that great but the thing was that I just bought it and I want to play with it a little more. My airflow is this one standard case fan (know for sure its not 120 mm ) about 3000 rpm sucking air into the case. The air is cool air because if you feel the back, the metal where the fan is on is pretty cool. The fan is sucking air right to where the volcanos fans are so its not actually going INTO the heatsink. Then I have two giant fans that are in the drive bay (made by Zeus EDIT : Zerus Twin Turbo ( http://shop.store.yahoo.com/tigerdirect-com/z19-1050.html ) 80 cfm sucking everything out. My comp is hellah loud but all in the name of performance eh?? If I have to resort to a new heatsink then I guess thats what I got to do, but is it possible to reduce any cpu temps with what I have + a couple more fans??

Oh yeah...would reducing voltage help??
Right now its VCORE - 1.79V. Its really stable too. Should I lower it a bit and by how much, or should I just keep it to where its at?? Thanks
