Well, it's been forcasted that if an eruption were to occur on the island of La Palma again, half of it will slide into the Atlantic and completly wipe out the east coast. Now, that's not supposed to happen for a few thousand more years, but what if some terrorist were to get ahold of some nukes and blow the unstable half off? Would it be possible?

I would think that they would have to be able to get the nukes atleast a 1/2 mile into the crust under water to beble to start the tectonic movement to get this into motion. So I would have to say no.

who cares

honestly not worth worrying about or even thinking about, unless you're a scientist studying this type of thing

Agreed, Personally I try not to worry about anything like that, I can't do anythign to stop it and if its going to happen then its going to happen. Kinda why I quit watching and reading the news. Been living a happier life since.

There are many mountains that are in the same condition, and others that might sink into the sea at any minute. This made me thing of a passage of a best seller book which we all might have heard of it.

Revelation 8:8:

The second angel sounded, and something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea; and a third of the sea became blood,
It seems someone was thinking about the same thing hundreds of years ago.

I'm curious as to why a "terrorist" would even bother.

/going to use quotes around that word from now on
//gets thrown around too much

^^^I don't think terrorists have the means to do something like this. There are other, 'easier' methods for a terrorist to cause panic and destruction that I'm not going to get into.

I have noticed over the years that Discovery is really good at making "worry people" documentaries. But they are so addictive to watch regardless.

It is amazing how a land slide like that can displace so much water and in turn create such a big wave.

FYI Discovery channel is edu-tainment, not education. Even if it did happen there's no real guarantee that the real outcome would be anything like the scenario presented by the show. There was another 8.5 quake in the same region of the 2004/2005 tsunami off of Indonesia a few months ago, but this time nothing happened.

Well none the less the documentry from Discovery WAS educational, they might hype up a lil bit here and there but facts are facts

Speculation with roots in fact woud be more accurate ;) It's not fiction, but it's not on par with something like a historical documentary.
