So I'm selling my Dell E510 and building a new computer from scratch. The dell has 2 hard drives in it, I used DriveClone to clone one harddrive to another and I wanted to know if I would be able to simply take the cloned harddrive and hook it up to a new custom build system? The main idea is to save money buying another copy of Windows Professional.

You would still need a license to run the copy legally. Hooking it up in the new system you would need to run the 2nd repair option off the cd to delete all drivers and uneeded DLL files and have it reload the ones off the cd so you can load up the drivers for the new hardware. Also if this is a clone of the install on your dell once you get into the install it will ask to activate which will alert Microsoft of an OEM copy being installed on two systems (thats if you do activate)
