I have a 160 gig maxtor and everytime I try to unload a winrar file thats a .iso it tells me that NTFS only supports files greater then 4gb. I currently am running the FAT32 File System. Can I get some help with this matter? Thanks In Advanced :)

FAT32 does not support files bigger than 4G. You need to either create a set of spanned files so that you don't exceed the limit, or try a different filesystem.

Whole mess of sites pop up on google with (converting FAT32 to NTFS), easy enough instructions to solve your problem with FAT32 limitations. Once you go NTFS I'm not sure you can convert it back proper, maybe messing with Partition Magic but just stick with NTFS.

You can not convert it back to fat32 after you convert to NTFS without a format.

You can use most zip compression programs to create multi-part archives. Other than that, you can't really get around it, it's a limitation of the filesystem. You can convert to ntfs, but then you won't be able to use it with win9x or mac.

FAT32 supports folume sizes up to 2TB, but windows XP can only format them up to 32G (it can access larger ones, just not create them). If you format the drive with windows 98 or linux, you can get bigger sizes. I assume, though, that the drive came formatted that way.

i knew there was something about a 32gb limit, wasn't sure if it was from the os or filesystem.
i would definatly reccomend convert to ntfs if you don't need win9x or mac. it allows for more security and i think it would improve speeds doing anything, though probably not by much.
