Soi bought a Thinkpad t22 from a friend for $300. put in new battery($60). Wirelless PCMCIA ($40). and a DVD-CDRW combo. it had a dvd drive before. ($75). grand total is about 475.. anywho im selling it for 500 to a guy i work with. id like to buy another laptop though, and this time i was thinking i could not to go above 400. i just want somethin i can watch family guy on WMP w/out it skipping, and having torrents downloading, and every now and than jump on counterstrike source. any ideas of solid laptops from 300-400 price range that could satisfy me? i wouldnt mind if it was like 450 if its worth it but i really wanna try to stay under 400 if i can

I have no idea what's going to play CS source for 400. older lappys generally dont have good gfx cards. the Evo N600c has a radeon1 with 16MB of ram and I got mine for 400 but CS source? maybe not...

So you want a laptop to watch shows when it seems that your current pc seems to do well? Crazy!

for 500$ its not gonna happen. Even at the 700$ mark its gonna be tough. Best bet is to find a used older Pentium M with the ATI 64 MB 9000 DDR. But even then CS Source will not be playable :p

Dude trust me and save the gaming for the desktop. Get yourself a INB R40 from retrobox.com, something like that, but yeah 1.3 pentium M 256 ram dvd combo 16mb ati gfx(starcraft anyone?) and a 14" screen. for about $380 shipped. They got a few grade A t40s still avalable so jump in on one. ohh and btw battery lasted me 6 hours on first charge although YMMV
