ok, i have 2 panaflo 120mm fans on my heater core. i am building watercooling so i dont have noise...

so, 12v is a little loud for me, so i want to back off the voltage a little. what ohm resistor will give me 10v? (i dont want a rheostat, voltage regulator, etc... i just want a resistor to get me down to 10v)

here are the fan stats:

12v, 5.4 watts, .45 amps.

thanks

5.3 ohms
the resistance of the fan is 26.7 ohms so using the law of potential dividers gives:
R = (12 - 10) * 26.7 / 10 = 5.3 ohms
If you want a different voltage just change the 10 in there for another number
