View Full Version : Really have to say this about ASUS support
They are GREAT.... I was STUPID and dropped my CPU into the socket and bent some pins. Called to get an RMA, sent the board back with a note stating it was my fault and I understand not covered by the Warranty. Asked them to email me with the charges and I'll pay with a credit card.
Just got an email today saying the board was shipped yesterday.. Woot, a freebie.
im stupid..but why are you rma'ing bent pins to ASUS? They dont make processors..
LOL.... Intel 775 processors don't have pins, they have pads. The mobo socket has the pins and they are very fragile.
EDIT: You're just not familiar with Intel :)
oh i think i remember that now
something about procs becoming cheaper and mobo's more expensive

asus support. I got an rma board and it came back unfunctionable. I am rma'ing a board for the 2nd time now and hopefully they'll actually fix it this time. what a waste of shipping. If it does work this time i will stick with asus and their products.

Personally, I've had really great support from them, and then I've had really horrible support from them. I think its a 50/50 shot really. Good to hear you got the good side :)
OK... There's a catch. The wife just called and said the board was delivered, but the point of origin was Fremont California. I sent my mobo to the repair depot in Kentucky. The mobo was what I consider better than usual, booting with stock settings at 1500FSB and I really want that EXACT mobo repaired and sent back. My feeling is they just sent me a new one.
Now, do I have a right to ask for my exact mobo back.?.
Of course, I'll test the new one, but odds are against running as well as the original
Looks like I have nothing to compalin about. Needs some mods and NB cooling.
