Hey guys just wondering if you could give me an idea on a new chip.. At the present time I'm running a cel. 566@850. Just wondering what I could step up to that would give me the most bang for my buck.I don't. want to get into fancy cooling or anything. But I would like to get a little more out of this mobo before I step up to a P4.Just wondering if you's had any ideas...
Thanks Nats.............

Well the main thing to overclocking is heat and eiter way the higher you go the more heat the chip will develop so cooling is the number one thing :)

Whats your current mobo I think your doing good for stock cooling I believe...

What motherboard do you have and what are your temps?

Well, anything that's a significant step up is on a 100Mhz bus. Try something in the 800+ range. The faster 66Mhz bus processors (700-766) have multipliers that are too higher for substancial ocing, you'd do better with the 800. I personally like my 600 cause I've got it running at nearly 900 with a crappy Evergreen Tech. fan I got with a processor upgrade a few years ago... really sucks, no thermal compound, etc.... Can't wait to see what this thing will do with the Golden Orb I ordered.
