Im modding my case and I was wonder where I can get 2 blue leds that go to the mobo I think its the hard drive and something else....

I saw some nice looking blue leds at radio shack but they are 12v so I donno if they are too strong

are 12v too strong for that?

If you want 12V then run them on the 12v line.

I think you need 3.3v pr 5v for an ATX mobo.
12v leds will most likely not run.
Remember you want the volts closest to the load or they will be
dimmer than normal.
Radio Shack leds are good. Never seen a flaw.

the ones I got were 5v 20ma. Super bright blue. Very Nice!

Mine are 8 leds that came with an old case.
They would not run on my ATs 5v line
(without a burnt smell  ) so I ran them
in 4 sets of series and then those in paralell.
They work great - I mounted them on a board and
then on top of my monitor.
(I had no need for them but I had them lying around,
so I sayed: I might as well do something with them)
- I think I am too adicted :D

radio shack had 1 left but it was $5.00 for just one!!!!!!

there is no way Im paying $5 for just one led.....

also I see they have some 12v ones that I like so I was thinking

could I hook thim up to a veriable resister so when I turn down my fans the light will dim?

YES!
You can put them on a variable resistor.

does the shack have T1 size LEDs in blue cuz I need three for my NIC mod and don't want to spend 25bucks at Jameco.

T1=3mm and T1 3/4=5mm.

I got them at Radio Shack, near the back dividers that have all of the switches and stuff (I think most of them are set up the same way). They were about $4.00 CDN each.
