My Pc Power & Cooling 510 DELUXE has arrived its rock solid 12.05V, 3.32V, 5.05V almost 0% jitter from idle to load. BUT ITS UNBEARABLY LOUD JESUS HOLEY S*** :bang head: , so loud I've decided to return it. Which of these PSU preforms better and is silent? if theres any other quality silent psu please let me know :D (I'm looking for any almost inaudible psu as my system is very silent 15-20db)

SeaSonic S12-500 500W Power Supply (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817151024)

or

FSP Group (Fortron Source) AX500-A (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817104934)

Seasonic would be the winner here. However, the Zalman 460W is based on a more efficient 460W Fortron unit than the older AX500-A, and may be a good contender. SPCR has a review on that one.

I'd go with the Seasonic as well.

There's no fan swap that will make the 510W as quiet as a Seasonic without adversely affecting long term reliability. The 510W just isn't that efficient.

the 510 is a hoss psu, no mistake. mega beef for its size. the seasonic is more efficient, but that doesnt mean its superior or has the "juice" like the pcp&c. it just means it runs cool, and can be cooled quietly, less power loss from heat,....more efficient, not more "juice" per se.

Haha, I'd love to see Ok Wolf actually post that. pwnage. :p

The PC Power and Cooling is definitely a hefty PSU but not without its limits. Not terribly efficient, or designed originally for desktop use, so noise was never a big factor when they built this unit. As already mentioned, there is no way to get this to be as quiet as the Seasonic with a fan that could cool it sufficiently for long term use.

Actually, Zippy gets my vote there :p

The 510W is one of the most stable and reliable you can get, but that doesn't mean it's particularly silent or efficient. I don't prioritize silence myself. Bottom line is, the 510W was designed for servers in the industrial market... silence was not a priority.

I don't care about silence either :) I would of got the 700w Zippy but it was too damn long, so i got the PCP&C 510ASL
