i am planning to make a fiberglass shroud for my bonevillev heater core (2 x 120). Is there a particular brand that works better than others. Lowes carries some elmers fiberglass stuff. http://www.elmers.com/homerepair/product_page.asp?pCode=E770

What will give the best results:
--fiberglass mat
--fiberglass cloth
--t-shirt

edit: this shroud will be shown through my abnormously large sase window. Will bondo work if i want to make the shroud smoother, or does just sanding it work better.

I would use Fiberglass, then bondo, then glazing putty for final finish topped off with some 1000 grit wet sand paper and it should look pretty good.

Nice! I cant wait to see your finished product! Post us pics!
Good luck and maintain!

I've only used fiberglass once before so I can't tell you if the resins are different, but they all do the same thing so I would imagine that it wouldn't matter too much. And yes, bondo should work to smooth your shroud out!

Thought I would chime in too,

Here is my guide:

My method is certainly not the best because I was experimenting. My first attempt is actually much better.

Good luck!

like he said in his other thread, he´s not big on looks, just cares about the performance. A good shroud is ont that gives u an airtight seal, not something to stare at all day, that´s the girls job:D

Besides, its not like he´s gonna take the side off and show everyone he knows how good his shroud looks. His pics were there as a tuturial, and as that it rocks !
guess some old school ppl hasent really gotten into the blue-lazers for case fee, and PSU-windows yet... and some might never do...
