IGN has posted some new Crysis Screen shots and they look flat out amazing. It looks like a revolution in PC gaming is occurring as we speak. http://media.pc.ign.com/media/694/694190/imgs_1.html

Well now we just have to wait for some actual gameplay shots. I think Cellfactor is going to be amazing too. But, I must say, even if those screenies of Crysis are cinematics... still pretty impressive.

Imagine how crytek 3 engine will look like.. I'm pretty sure you can't really tell what is game and what is the reality anymore.

Agreed, I cant even imagine what this game is going to look like maxed out on a Dell FPW 2407. If the reports of DX10 being five times as efficient as DX9 are true than you might be able to have a mediocre DX10 setup and be able to play this game with most eye candy turned on. I highly doubt that the DX9 version will look nearly as good as the DX10 version though. I guess that we will just have to wait and see.

Absolutely off-the-scale ridiculous. I am utterly stunned.

Thought DX10 was suppose to be 6 times more efficient then DX9 ;)

Well you know that most of the reports out there are BS. Like how soundcards are supposed to take a huge load off of your cpu. Actually now that I think about it, DX10 might only be three times as effecient as DX9. We will have to wait and see I guess.

Those are some awesome shots, and to think, ten minutes ago I was playing pacman. How times have changed.

While I will concede to the fact that these images are absolutely gorgeous, I have some doubt that any of today's cards will be able to handle it. I mean, look at the close up of the guy's head. Those are some high resolution, very detailed textures. I'm betting you will need a minimum of 512MB ram on your card to use those textures and still get a decent framerate. They are probably expecting 1GB cards to be out by the time the game is released and are designing the game around that.

Well the video grabs were taken out of the DX10 version and its supposed to be 3-6 times more effecient than DX9 so even a mediocre card should be able to handle Crysis very well with most eye candy turned on. The DX9 version will be toned down quite a bit.

Hmm, well honestly it looks great. Then again though it seems like ever 3 weeks there is another jaw dropping game coming out that everyone is blown away by and starts rushing to upgrade their system for. IMO it looks great, though graphics don't make the game, they only make it a litttle easier on the eyes. Also I think that with most games it's system requirements are going to be over hyped, because what I have seen though new games look great they do tend to run alright on a rig that would run the last "graphicaly hyped" game, maybe a little less eye candy though. Anyway it will be interesting to see how this game does when it's actually released and peope can play it, not just look at it.

Amazing, but i always get hyped up about new games and it ends up most rigs run them fine. I heard that there are no cards out now that will support DX10, is that true?

... that game looks ... wow :)
looks like i'll be doing a complete system upgrade next summer-ish :(
What I dont like is Microsoft is forcing us to upgrade our OS's just get Direct10...
Come on... do we really need to upgrade our OS to be compatible with Direct10?

Well, it is understandable. Windows XP is VERY old by computer terms. If they made directx10 compatible with XP, it would take too much for not alot of returns.
The Farcry demo looks sweet though! Y'all think it'll run good on my 7600GT? ;)

Actually im kind of glad that Windows is releasing Vista with DX10. Hopefully DX10 really is 6X more effecient than DX9 and the code that is used in Vista is alot better.

Yes you do. DX10 handles graphics resources in a fundamentally different way than pervious DX versions. Vista is built to support this, other OSes are not. It simply can't work in XP without some serious hacks done to it which would kill the performance benefits of its design.

Can't wait for DX10 videocard to be out and see how they perform.

I highly doubt this to be the case. Perhaps it would be a significant effort to backport directx10 but certainly not impossible or even unreasonable. Microsoft is simply fueling the need to upgrade with this one :)
crysis = sweet
