Use White Out in the pits! Then you can pencil over them or use any thing to go over them, because the white out holds stuff like pencil or conductive pen better than epoxy or nail polish.

How does it react to heat & is it conductive?

naughty double post;)

would they melt?

it's non-conductive...and the L1 bridges only get up to about 40C...so they won't melt.

Innntterestting.... Hmmm :p

If you've got totally non-conductive thermal goop like Nanotherm Ice, you could fill the gaps using that too, provided that you used some sort of conductive grease to connect the bridges.

Good idea. Try it out.

Yeah, but just some $1 generic silicone based thermal paste works too and is probably a little safer. Interesting though - it shoud work.

The Nanotherm Ice goop is completely non conductive, but the silicone goop would be cheaper.

yes but thermal goop won't harden and let you draw on it! White out will!

Hmm, I think you can still draw on the thermal goop if you do it lightly. I know you should be able to with a conductive pen and especially conductive grease. Don't know about a pencil, though, but I hear you shouldn't use one on an XP for the gaps anyway. Has something to do with the gap length, but I forget the specifics.

white out would not be so good, as it's brittle, and what's more, if you need to remove it, good luck, cuz that stuff gets everywhere, it's so messy!

Yeah, you would have to use conductive grease. It's still cheaper than many other methods.

Will a pen work too? I can get a pen cheaper than the grease that's inside of it. If a pen won't do, do you know of a good place to get the grease?

I overclock CPU's because I like two things: Power & Money. If I have to give up mucho dinero to unlock my athlon I might as well get an MP without the pits. White-out is cheap and readily available and once I unlock my multiplyer I can forsee no possible scenario where I would want to re-lock it or remove the hardened White-out. Just my two cents. When I get an XP my first attempt will be with white-out and a good old No2!

White out doesn't sound too bad, but I wouldn't trust a pencil over it. I'd still go out and get some conductive grease. That's just me, though.

if anyone uses these methods and gets the job done post in here

Im thinking about unlocking mine but GOODLORD Those pits are

SMALL

I used a magnifying glass and barely could see them, maybe I should try and wear my glass's next time LOL

What are you talking about. They're prefectly clear through any microscope.

my microscopes microscopic, Think I need to buy a larger one :D
