Will-O-The-Wisp. I need to get gold dust from them, how do I do this?
All you have to do is kill one and they drop the dust :)

I am a level 5, My sword is useless against them. I tried casting a flare at them but it went right through them...

Flare works against them for me, but when I did the quest, I used an ice spell that did somewhere around 20 damage, if I'm not mistaken.

OK I'll try that, *runs of to game*
worked :)
Silver or magic weapons work if you can find (or steal) one.

one thing you might try if you don't have any spells or silver/daedric weapons:
attack it and lead it to the shrine, the people at the shrine will hose it for you. That's what i did for the quest you get from azura ;)

:) that's what I found, but those darn will-o-wasp almost killed my horse when I ran behind it to hind :p
Just wondering also, how many of you are archers? I haven't really messed with archery yet, but seems as though swords or magic have more potential than bows and arrows.

I attack almost exclusively with a bow and arrow and love it. I made your basic rogue assasin character and the marksman ability works great with sneak. In fact, I have my sneak so high that I can usually shoot enemies in dark dungeons from a distance which they can't even see me. The result is a 3x damage multiplier for a sneak attack multiple times in a row. Half the enemies I engage don't even try to attack until they're almost dead.
