Well, my Half-Life 2 just froze on me and then it just stopped, but this time it didn't go to the blue screen of death, it went back to the desktop (i.e.-crashed to the desktop) so I'm worried it's my PSU.

So is this PSU a good buy for $200?

Then there is this $100 one,

What do you think? :) PC specs in the sig ;)

This one would be a good cheap choice (its better than the modstream). I don't think you need to spend 200 for the first one.

EDIT: I forgot to ask, are you sure this is a powersupply issue?

I'm not sure, it only has happened in HL:2

When my 7900gtx comes in this upcoming week, I'll do a fresh install of Windows and start new w/ everything, so if that doesn't solve it, then I guess I'll try something else. :)

Before you drop some money on a new PSU you really should check to make sure that it is needed. Now with your new video card coming you may need to look at upgrading. What are you currently running for a PSU?

It's a 550 Athena PSU I bought locally at a computer store for $105.

It says it is SLI ready but it doesn't have the "Official" Nvidia "stamp of approval." It's done fine so far.

Athena and OCZ are both OEM Topower. The Modstream would be a big step sideways, the Powerstream 520W a small step up, and the Powerstream 600W a big step down.

Ok, I'll keep mine in there, hopefully it's something else :)

Thanks!

Yours is 28A on the 12v rail, that is more than enough for any video card made today.
