I have been using XP for the last few weeks, and I am getting higher temps than I was in WIN2k. In win2k I would get 32-34C, but in XP I get 35-38C. Anyone having similar experiences? Any suggestions? Thanks.

I've got neither 2k nor WinXP, but what you said makes sense, provided that you're not folding or the like. As OSs progress, they require more and more processing power to run. That's what you're seeing, ieXP is using more cycles thereby raising your temps. I wouldn't worry, though. Those are fine temps.

BTW, Do humanity a favor. Fold proteins. (http://www.stanford.edu/group/pandegroup/Cosm/) It's painless and easy. We're team 32.
