Well,

I actually, recently got in on the little Dell E1505 deal they ran last week and my laptop is on it's way in the mail. I've recently read up on Intel's new line of CPU's, particularily the Merom's and am having second thoughts about keeping the laptop. I could probably sell it on eBay and make a quick $100 (My total after customizing was about $900).

I'm wondering though...
When will Merom officially release and what are the prices going to run? I know I won't be able to get the same system for the same price in the first 6 months it comes out. By then if I decide to sell my laptop and buy a Merom-injected laptop, I will probably lose quite a few hundred bucks.

Hmmm, the choices! Any new of Merom and thoughts are greatly appreciated! :)

Intel is to launch Woodcrest, Conroe and Merom in Q3. Don't know anything about price.

Intel has started a price war with amd... from how it looks at the momment merom is going to be cheaper than normal initial release processors. as for when you can get your hands on merom lappies\processors... prolly november-december.

Most laptops you will just be able to drop in a memron. So get a core Duo now and enjoy. But if you are not in a rush, better mid range video cards may be out by then.

I know the M1710 will be able to take a memron. Just get a core duo now and upgrade when memron is released.
