i woke up this morning, and checked my seti log, to see how my new mobo is doing. and somehow, i had crunched and returned 6wu's!! in one night! my computer averages low 4.xx or high 3.xx, but it is impossible. they were all completed 99.xx 100.00%. i guess it is a good problem to have, but it is just not possible. has anyone else ever had this problem?
I wouldn't say it is impossible, just highly improbable!;)
I've gotten wus that take 8 hrs and 3 hours on the same system (approx. times); seems like you may have gotten lucky with a bunch of quick ones in a row!

but it is not possible, there are not enough hours i was asleep. before i went to bed at 4am, i had 1wu for the 10th returned. when i woke up at 11:30 i had 7! all 99-100% complete! not to mention, there are 2 pairs of wu's that were transmitted, that are exactly the same. i just dont get it.

Some WU's only take about a few seconds to a few minutes to do. If there are a lot of spikes, the unit usually aborts and transmits. I have had a few spells of sub 5 minute WU's. You do get credit for them;) . Enjoy them - they are better than getting a cluster of VLAR's.

i under stand that, but this is not that situation, it says that they all took between 3.9-4.2hrs to complete....not enough time in the night to do that. if anyone can tell me how to take a screen shot, and post it here i will do that.

With the image on your screen, hit the 'PrintScrn/SysRq' key on your keyboard. Open paint. Go to 'Edit' on the toolbar and select 'Paste'. Cut out the part of the screen image that you want as your display. Select from the File menu item 'Open' say no to saving the previous image. Again from the Edit menu item - Paste. Save image as a .jpg or .gif image.
On the reply page, of the forum, look down at the 'Attach file', to the right it says 'Browse...', browse for the image that you just saved on your hard drive and select it. Wahlaa you have attached an image.
What exactly does 'SysRq' do??? They wouldn't be wasting ink on writing an extra 5 charachters on a keyboard if it served no purpose....

Don't know what function (if any) it ever served on PC clones. If I remember correctly, a friend of mine (long, long ago) actually had some use for this on a C64. The speech synthesizer comes to mind, but I'm not sure if that was it.
Of course, that offered absolutely no solution to your question, did it. :D

no one has any clue?
the highlighted area shows 4 wus, but 3 of them are on there 3 times.
I've never messed with the logs, but I wonder if it could be something like the funky wus that come up now and then and wreck seti, forcing a re-install. Different problem, but we know that some screwy units get sent out now and then.
Only other thing I can think of is setispy not being able to connect first try?
Did you get credit for all of the units shown completed?
Quite a trick if you get credit for the same unit 3 times!:p
I am guessing on all of the above- very interesting problem though!

what do you mean by re-install? i think it is fixed, but i will see in the morning.
The funky wu thing hasn'y hit me for a while, but when it did I'd get a wu started then it would stop (trying to remember details here!) and neither restarting setispy nor rebooting the pc would get it going again. The only way to get it going was to isolate the offending wu, delete it, and then reinstall setispy, etc. I forget exactly which files had to be deleted- maybe just setispy.ini. But basically it is starting with setispy all over again.
There were quite a few posts about it a while back.
Good luck, man, and tell us more if it happens again!
