Been going on since sunday,good for a week ,surprised no one listed it . couldn't resist the price, and went to Staples and brought 3.

Acer al1916asd 8ms, DVI, 1280x 1024

Staples in store only : $250 -12%($30) F&F -$30 coupon -$50 easy rebate + tax.

Look in FW, some staples will let you tack on another -$20 coupon mading about $120.

I was real happy to get 19" with DVI for $140+ tax even after they rejected my $20 coupon

I work at staples, and technically...you aren't allowed to use the 12% and -30 dollar coupon (with purchases over 150$). If you are smart about it -- you might be able to get both.

Regarding the monitor, it's very nice. My friend and co-worker actually bought one. 700:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2, 8ms, DVI, and 1280 x 1024. I decided to pass on account of the Dell 1907FP with a good chance of 1000:1 and 5ms for 220 shipped :santa2: .

Either way you look at it, it's still a great deal.

Model # al1916 . Output is very good , I am only comparing to the viewsonic Va902b I that i have. Like this a little better because of the DVI output . Frame and base is not as sturdy as viewsonic's . Other on FW have complainted that base is wobbly. It is very light and not weighted. Frame is silver, would look better in black. No dead pixels (.29mm). Made in china, 3yr warranty by acer, 1yr by staples. $50 rebate is good 5X.

Can't go wrong by price $140 or $120. If buying go after 5pm , usually the evening managers is better and ask about the combining 12% and coupons first and then tell them your not buying if they don't cooperate. Pass on the extra warranty. Don't forget to try for the extra $20 coupon , you might find a extra helpful manager, at worst they can only say no. Find link to 12%, $30 and $20 coupons in FW , print and your set to go.

Check on that Dell 1907FP I think its contrastis 700;1 and 8ms response time otherwise its a great monitor with a better base that's adjustable in height and has USB connections

It will depend on which panel you get from Dell. The Samsung is 5ms. See the 19" Dell thread in this section for more info.

the 12% off actually has fine print saying you cant. its just that the system sucks and it will accept the coupon with manager approval. it really depends on the manager and their mood so you better kiss some ass for that 12% & 30 off. Ive seen it happen. nice deal too bad i have a 2405fpw in front of me ^_^

Yeh ,thats a bunch of CRAP . I have a $30 off $150 and the printed 12% off and I plan on using them . The 12% off is there for a reason to get customers INSTORE ; and if your lucky like me and had a $30 off $150 coupon mailed to ya , there is NO reason why these can not be used together . Ive used plenty of the 12% off in the past (with other coupons) for hard drives , etc ; thats just utter BS they gave you Godman .

I got the same crap when I went in the morning. I just went back again after 5pm to the same store when they had a different manager. You can also try near closing time , they just want to leave and don't read the coupons.

lol, yeah... maybe i should get me another 2405 cuz it's gonna be hard to get used to the 19". I have a 2405 in my bedroom, but i want this 19" as a 2nd monitor at my gf's place, so i can have my own PC set up there. i got her the dell e196, and wanted a DVI for gaming...

if i can't get this, i'll just live with her analog... it's not that bad as it's 8ms and looks rather crispy. :)

Godm@n, that manager was BSing you. I'm a sales manager at staples, and i do this atleast a few times a day. We are not suppose to combined them, but the district managers don't really mind because we are pleasing the customer. You'd be suprised how much our DM's get on our asses if we ****ed off a customer (even if we were 100% right, and following policy)

is the monitor good quality? Meaning does it last long? It looks kinda... not that sleek. But iono. it could have wonderous performance for all i no. Heck I use a small 15'' samsung from 2001 so i'm sure this would make everything look 10 times better.

Damn!!! I did the same thing... JUST got back from lunch break and picked it up. I gave $30 coupon first...

I shoulda gave 12% coupon first, right? Woulda saved me another $3.50... whatever, I guess.

Ok , finally went and grabbed one . 12% and -$30 was NO problem !!! Geez , they even gave me another $30 off $150 coupon just for talking to the csr and offered to use that one on an updated warranty (full 2yr on spot replacement) , lol .
Anyway ...took the thing over to my bro's to see how it compared to his new Gateway FPD2185W and check for dead pixels ,etc . Well no dead pixels :D , and the Acer looks great and just as good as the Gateway without any adjustments or anything , all on default settings ( really , no kidding) :attn: . Did a quick BF2 run to test for ghosting ; and nada , PERFECT !
Gotta say ...for $155 amir , this things a steal .

The ONLY thing that bothered me at all with the Acer , is the DVI conector on the back is a bit of a tight fit ; meaning ...the DVI cable has to go in at a slight angle to fit in snug (barely fit). Not sure if this a single incidant or if anyone has come across this slight problem (anyone else ?).

For now it looks like the Acer will most likly replace my beloved IBM P260 21" CRT which is now about 5+ years old , as its finally starting to loose its coloration (fading) . I was going to go with the Dell 1907 before this , but after experiancing the Acer first hand , I'll definitly be keeping the Acer for the $65-70 cheaper price over the Dell .

Bottom line ... nice monitor at a heck of a good price :beer:

Yep.. I ran into it myself.. Tight fit isn't the word for it, but it will go. Were it not for that core attached to the cable it would be a snap to insert.

Never mind the mir, do the easy rebate online for it. Makes things go far faster.

One thing I CAN say for Staples, is their rebates come back, unlike some others I've done.

Unfortunatly I have 1 dead pixel and another that is stuck red. Hopefully I will have time to try to exchange it during the week.

ebay, they are valid online too so you don't even have to go to the store. After paying $10 for the coupon the total would be 210 - 50 MIR = 160 plus taxes.
