I have two wireless routers, one in my bedroom and one in the office downstairs. The one downstairs is connected to the cable modem. Is there any way to wirelessly connect the two routers in order to allow computers connected to the router (wired) in my bedroom to use the internet connection from the downstairs router? I have quite a bit of experience with wireless networks, however I'm at a loss here. The downstairs router is a netgear WGT624, the router in my bedroom is a linksys WRTG54.
Thank you in advance for your help.
What you want to do is bridge the connection. You can check some 3rd party firmware that I know can do it with 2 (3rd party compatable) WRT54gs. You can also buy a bridge that will let you do it.

cool I think I found a guide to do it on Anandtech forums, looks like only one router has to be a wrt54g, which is perfect for me.

thanks for your guidance :)
I'll take a look tomorrow and see if I can get this working.

yay.
I finally got around to trying this. Ended up being very simple. The only obstacle I hit was that my router is version 4; the firmware suggested in that guide is not campatible with this revision. However, I found another on, dd-wrt, that was compatible, and it was very easy to set up. Just a matter of changing it from AP mode to client mode, and entering my downstairs router's SSID and encryption settings. VERY EASY :)
