I've been running my Danger Den waterblock for approx. 1 week now. I have my 72 W peltier sandwiched between it and the included copper cold plate. Well for those who don't have one or seen it the waterblock is a little less than 2" x 4" x 1/2" and the cold plate measures the same lenght x width but thickness is about 1/4". Ok now the peltier being too small for a P4 anyways isn't it overworking itself by cooling the entire cold plate? Should I reinstall one of my old coldplates which match the same size as the TEC? I wanted to hear some input before going and spending 2 hours dismantling the system again to change the waterblock setup.
Temps average a little under room temp and have only been as high as 45 C under full load @ 1.7 GHZ. Overclocked it obviously goes higher.

Try adding a rad is probably the best thing you can do. If you have insulation on the coldplate size isn't issue (unless you fitted a 12" sq one or something:)). If not adding insultion might help a bit, other than that just get a bigger tec.

well i didn't get anyone to answer fast enough so i took it apart again to figure it out for myself.
Here is what i found. The idle temp for some reason was 16 C being a 2 C drop from earlier. Now for full load thats a different story. I hit 53 C on full load. I can't explain it but a smaller cold plate definitely didn't work for me. After this post i'm taking it apart again and reinstalling the bigger one.

I'm updating after reinstalling:
Idle now is 6 C which may because nothing seemed tightened down enough.
Full load is now 36 C more like it!
