View Full Version : Pics of my "wasted" unused pelt-modded Asus 7900-GTX
I just got my freshly modded card from my mod-god. and I open the anti-static bag and parts fall out. Man, I can't win for losing. My 7800-gtx's were so cold bugged that I gave them up for 2x7900-gtx cards. And now I can't even use them cause the other Asus 7900-gtx is factory defected with a wierd DX8 bug (washed out colors).
Good thing there is some insurance on this package. But too bad it will take me "at least" 30 days to collect. I have to send the card & my claim back to USPS headquarters for apporval back East somewhere.

o man that sucks, goodluck with everything hope you get this taken care of
Thanks fellas...I am in SUCKS-ville! It has been a royal pain getting my pelt gaming SLI rig to finalize. Cold bugs out my ears and now this.
I burned big-time rubber down to the USPS office and filed a claim for $791.84. The price of the card and the modifcations that i never used. They said claims take about 30 days.... :bang head
Another month to with until my Ultra gaming rig is complete...but by then it will be obsolete. :eh?:
Wow they must've tossed it around like crazy to get it defect like that. I've had my ti4200 with custom heatsinks drop off a 3 ft table onto a stone floor and everything was fine. Good luck getting your money.

Wow man, sorry about that!
UPS refunds claims rather quickly. One time I sold an Xbox360 game on Ebay, and it was "lost" (i.e.-someone took it out of the bag) while in shipment. UPS had me my money back in about a week or so I think.
On the other hand, USPS is as slow as honey in Alaska going up hill against the wind. Don't expect to see your money until DX12 or so :santa:

sorry for your loss :(
wanna show us some pics of the full card, so we can drool over what it MIGHT have been capable of? :)
My deepest sympathies.....
Thats even beyond my soldering skills.... I really feel for you man!
Thanks bros, still waiting for my refund. I have 2 more weeks to wait, maybe not. The USPS guy said insurance claims take 3 weeks from the time they get all the paper work together. But others have said its faster than that.

Never EVER use the post office for anything other than a letter.
So what did the box look like that it was shipped in? I'm hoping that it was nicely damaged. I would think that they would have wanted to see it.

Thats the funny thing about it all. It was almost perfect. No dents or gouges. I think it took a very hard flat slap!

Damn that sucks.
What did the box look like?
Edit: Read your reply. I opened about 20 threads in tabs and just got to this one.
I feel your pain and am currently in the same boat with USPS, except my damaged goods happened to be a 42" plasma.
It has been 4 weeks now since I have submitted my claim, and its like jumping through hoops to get any decent answers from them. Good luck with your situation.

maybe by the time you get the refund prices will go down and you'll save some $$ on the purchase, or the 7950 might come out :-P
