I just want to make sure I'm doing this right, as it seems like a better deal than buying an external hard drive alone. I'm thinking of this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817105006) enclosure and this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822144181) drive, is there anything I should know about hooking this thing up? I just slide in the drive and windows should automatically recognize and format it like a regular external, right?

you shouldnt have a problem.
Just follow the instructions on putting the hdd into the case. than hook it to your computer with the usb cable, and all you gotta do is format it and your done.
its no different from a pre-built external drive, except you gotta do a little extra installation.
I would spend a little extra and get this enclosure. It has an 80mm fan to keep the drive cool..

It wouldn't hurt.
None of my external drives have fans on them and they are ok, so only get it if you want to.
