I had this idea lately for a new water cooling idea or actaully heating my computer room. My computer room is 3 block walls and 1 wall with a large window. A store front i rent. 3 sides are block walls to which 2 have earth more than 50% up. Anyways to make it short it's well insulated. Ok i have a very small space heater 2000 watts that heats this room very quickly for it's size. Now you know it's well insulated!
I did some quick figuring today and found that i need approx. 1200 Btu's (350 watts) to heat this room. Now i know the P4 puts out 64 W + my peltier 72 W = 136 Watts total. Thats approx. 464 Btu's. I'm a third of the way there so i thought why not buy approx. 6' of hot water base board heater and run my water cooling through it.
There are alot of variables to take into consideration though. 1st is my water cooling definitely absorbing 136 watts of heat. 2nd is the rated 64w for the cpu at idle. 3rd will running at full load or upping front side bus (not the voltage) generate more wattage for i know those things do increase temperature.
Well i guess if all goes right and it does heat the room a little alls i have to do to take the chill out of the air is run seti or play unreal tournament for awhile.

as long as you get a crankin pump to deal with the extended pump length it doesn't sound like a half bad idea...

i mean why not right? you've already paid for the electricity, might as well make it stretch...

do you really want to heat your room? if it is well instulated turn the whole thing into a freezer

Interesting Idea though

Try 12 1U rackmounts with amd 1400-266 chips, wattercool
and there you go!

I already keep it between 60 - 65 now. I can't turn into a refrig. because the plumbing will freeze. Don't think the owner would like that.
