hey guys.. i have like a little nerve.....

so i got this 24" screen at 1920*1200 and when i open a webbrowser or any program and i click maximize or just open it it takes the whole screen.. quite nice....

but can i run a script within the the program... or a program that would automatically force the maximize button to just half of the screen and have the other half open "desktop" view.....

like:

nVidia has this option by default, but you will need to enable it. I will "TRY" to explain it, so if I lead you astray, my appologies. I am pretty sure this will be correct though.

Open display Properties>Settings>Advanced>Your Videocard Tab (6800GT in your case), Desktop Management. Enable nView Desktop management.

Now, the menu on the left will have more options below Desktop management. Choose User Interface. Click the box marked Enable display grid. Now click apply, but do NOT close out the window yet. Also, under Title bar buttons, you may want to check all of the boxes below it. They are neat little quick things that help you manage your desktop pretty well, (once you learn to use them).

Now that you have clicked "Apply", you will need to "Edit your Gridlines". So click the button. Choose "Insert Column" and if you want 4 screens, choose "Insert Row". Drag them to where ever you want them. For what you asked though, you will only want to choose "Insert Column". Now choose "Options" while you are still in there, and check all of the boxes. You can come back at a later date and uncheck any you won't need or use. Now click "Back" and "Exit". Click "OK" to close out your display properties windows.

Now for the fun part. Open a window. You will now see a new set of buttons at the top right, beside the close/restore/minimize buttons. Click the far left one. That will make a drop down menu apear. Put your cursor on "Send Window To". Now choose which window you want it to go to. I have 4 grids, so I have 5 choices. The first being default maximized/fullscreen, and then 1/2/3/4 grids. You can also drag the window like any other window, to the grid of your choice.

I sure hope this made since, and I didn't type all of this up for nothing.

I could follow it. ::thumbup:: I'll have to actually play with it later to get used to it.
