Right, first of all I have to apologise about all the slagging I have done about Macs. They aren't all that bad, and are a lot sexier than PCs.
Ok, heres the question. In school we have a PowerPC apple mac with 32MB of RAM running System 7.6.1 and using Internet Explorer 5.0. We need to use this to run a library cataloguing system but it needs java. SO I checked out the preferences and tried to enable Java - no luck, we haven't got the MRJ! (Mac Runtime for Java). Tried Apples Site, downloaded 2.2.5. But its only for MacOS 8.1
Due to the firewall we couldn't get the .hqx 2.1.2 MRJ, so the network admin got it for me, I tried to install it BUT it won't even LOOK at anything that is .hqx Stuffit Exapnder 6.0.1 off of a CD installed but complained about not having carbonLib! Is that not for Mac OS X?
Okay, so how on earth can we get the MRJ on this annoying Apple Mac.
PS Saving up for a dual G4 Mac, should have enough £££ by summer. (2005!)
