Beats me dude!!!COuld be that they are more expensive now because the 7900 series came out, therefor the 7800 series is not in much demand---except if you want to run SLI and already have a 7800 card...so maybe the vendors are just trying to make as much money off of people who want to run their 7800 in SLI since they cant mix a 7800 and 7900.Anyway, we all appreciate you looking out for deals...dont take it personally when someone points out its not really a cyber deal...thats kinda how you learn what people consider cyber deals, so your only being given some feedback so that the rest of us can help you spot cyber deals for yourself, and then for us....like a week ago CC had an eVGA 7900GT priced at $232 after MIR and sale price.Keep posting the deals---eventually you'll find a great one!

Core size. The 7900 series has a smaller core size than the 7800s, making them more cost effective to produce, hence the price drop.

i don't think the shrunken core makes it that much cheaper. When the 7800gt's came out they were also floating around the $300 price point. Reason the 7800gtx's are still up there in price is cause when they were released they 'were' top dog, and not everyone keeps up with computer parts like we do. So there are still alot of people out there that think the 7800gtx's are still great cards, not knowing they can get the 7900gt's (that are faster, and cheaper). Its more of a marketing scheme then anything else.
