Hi @all

I`ve a great problem with my Celli1000.
Cpu won`t rock stable @1,33GHz.
Spec: sl5xt (Costa Rica) OEM
Mobo: MS-6309B Ver.2
Ram: 2x 256MB Kingston CL3
Vid: Geforce NX (not OC but with a cooler on it)
Snd: SB-PCI 128 (there are many Problems with ny other SB-Live)
Net: D-Link DE 530+

I´ve tested my cpu only with videoboard and ram build in.

Testing:

1st i`m looking for bootup with 1,33GHz @ standard voltage < no way.
2nd time the PC bootup (W2K) @1,33GHzwith 1,85V . PC works at 30C° (idle). At this point i can work whit p.e. Office. With 3DMark2001, CPU-Stability the PC freeze after few seconds. I`ve pushed up the Volts to 1,95V with the same result.:(
The temperture (MSI-Motherboard-Monitor) grow up fast. Over 40C° while running CPU-Stability and machine freeze.
This is tested with Standard-HSK, GlobalWin FKP32 and a modifies AVM-HSK with Y.S.-Tech fan.

Now i`ve bought a Thermalrigt SK6 with 80cm Delta EHE Fan !!!
I thought: "Wow what a monster-cooler". Mistake !!!
@1,33GHz (1,9V) the temperature is 29C° (idle). But now i´ve started CPU-Stability in troubleshooting-mode. After starting the 2nd Test (Cache) the machine works 1min and freeze again @39C°.
System temperature lies on all test between 24 (Thermalright) and 35 (other Coolers).

What shall i do with this fuc... cpu ??
My machine always freezing @1,33GHz and my ears are bleeding.

Any help from you

Ciao

Run it with your best HSF and run it as high as it will run stable with th lowest CV, you may have to hope your CPU burns in. When i first started overclocking my current CPU i was stopped at about 50% of the overclock i have now, making sure sideband is disabled in registry if you have a VIA chipset, better case cooling, a bigger HSF on my northbridge all helped to get me too 1292 from 1G but the trip did take a while.

first of all 1333 is nothing small thats quite a feat, but anyways make sure that the SK6 is contacting the cpu properly and use Artic Silver, make sure to take off the thermal that came with it, it doesnt do too good of a job......

All of the above.......and I've never cared for Kingston ram, can ya try something other ??

Hi,

now i`ve checked my HSK. It is correclty mounted at all.
Arktik Silver isn`t good for this thing `cause the copperplatte is like a mirror. Arktik Silver is like sandy paper.
At this moment my CPU works with 1,33 GHz while surfing since one hour. On websites with flash and other animations the temperatur grow up fast til 35C°. Idle temperatur is 31C°. While playing Divx-Movie the temperatur grows up to 36C° and the machine works stable. System temperature ist stable @28C°.
With gaming i`ve no chance the temperytur would grow up to fast and the machine would crash.
With my other HSK`s, all Aluminium and no big cooler, i have only 2C° more.
This isn`t normal. Why don`t do my SK6 no better job for OC.
By stressing CPU the temperature grow up to fast :-((
Tomorrow i´ll test other ram, i think i take infineon or something else.

What the fuc... hell is going on with this cpu ??

Ciao and thx a lot for your ansers

Ya better stop swearing before you get kicked off the boards..

Try using a burn in option.. Like Seti or CPU Burn... Eventually it might get stable.. By the way.. Whats your voltages?

@all and especially @Yodums

I´m sorry about my swears but yesterday i was so angry :)

@Yodums

I `ve taken another SK6 with Delta38. It seems to be that this Cooler make his job better as the SK6 with big Delta EHE ! 3C° lower idle temperatur and not so noisy.

@1.75 and 1.8V is no bootup in W2k possible.
@1.85, 1.9 and 1,95 the machine boots up. No higher voltage possible in cause of the mobo. I´m working with 1.85V now.

I`ll test out this combination for a while (SK6-Delta38 + Celli1000@1333).
Maybe i`t will work, but i think not so.

If not, there will be a new deal by E-Bay :-))

Hi Zonk666, welcome to the Forum,
Try to set the most conservative mem settings (by Spd or better setting Ras & Cas delay on 3....) or consider to use an higher voltage, take a look to these links for more infos: http://members.prestige.net/newbie_doo/webpage/vcore_adjust.html or http://www.hardocp.com/articles/intel_stuff/bumpvoltage.html but onestly I think that the best way to go is a Cellie 900Mhz, that easly work rock stable @1.20Ghz (9x133Mhz) and more with a great cooling section (SK6 & some case fans) and very good mem modules (Pc150 or Pc166).

I hope it helps you :)

Yup get that high quality PC 150 ram and try lapping your SK-6 to see any better performance. Might reduce 2-5 degrees. :)

@ Yodums

Wich RAM do you recommend. Infineon, Apacer or Winbond??
Is sandy paper recommended for lapping HSK ?

Ciao

Hi @ all

Really, it seems to be my that RAM is faulty. I`ve taken a look in my Bios and what have I seen ?? RAM is working @133MHz. I`ve switched it to 100MHz and let the CPU @1,33GHz (133FSB) an my Machine rock stable at all. Prime, Cpu-Stability, 3DMark2001 and several Games working fine.
I switched back ram speed to 133MHz and the machine crashes while bootup in W2k.

Kingston KVR133x64C3/256.
So this is a PC133 ram. Hmm on Intel815 i`ve no probs with this ram @133MHz.

Any comments ??

Ciao

Hi @all.

My OC-Project has ended up successfully.

I´ve bought 2 x 256 Infineon (pretested @150MHz) and now the machine rocks stable @ all.

Machine:

Case: Midi-Tower
CPU: Cel. 1000@1333
Board: MS-6309B V.2 (Via 694x)
P-Supply: Standard-300W
Ram: 2x 256MB orig. Infineon
Vid: GeforceMX (Geforce3 coming soon):)
Sound: SB-128 (i know, i know...plz no comments):o
HDD: 2x 40GB (IBM)
CD: 1x DVD Tosh. 1602, 1 Acer CRW 2010A

Conclusion:
Case is one side open, standing in a table with closed door.
Ambient temperature is 21C°, CPUs Voltage is 1,85V.
No additional coolers in case !!

Testapplications:
CPU-Stability 6, 3dMark2001, Aquanox.
Cooler:
Thermalright SK6 - Extreme (Delta EHE 38x60x60),- Hartware (Delta 38x80x80), - Euro (YS-Tech FD 1260257B2-A).

CPU Sability running 4h.
Temperature:
Idle, Full Load, System@full
Hartware 28C°, 39C°, 30C°
Extreme 27C°, 38C°, 29C°
Euro 27C°, 38C°, 29C°

3dMark2001 (Demo-Loop) 1h

Full Load, System@full
Hartware 40C°, 31C°
Extreme 39C°, 30C°
Euro 39C°, 30C°

Aquanox 2h

Full Load, System@full
Hartware 38C°, 29C°
Extreme 37C°, 29C°
Euro 38C°, 29C°

Imho the SK6 is one of the best HSK for OC (5 of 5 thumbs up).
I`m wondering about the higher temperatures with the Big Delta EHE, maybe it`s about the heavyweight of the HSK that don`t match correct with CPU-Die in cause of the weight.
If you will by a SK6 then take one with Y.S.Tech-Cooler, your ears will thank you. The Deltas are extremly loud and have made no better cooling job.

You`ll by a SK6 - Hartware (Delta EHE or other 80x80-Cooler) ? Then i have a litte fine tip for you.
Don`t take screws to fit the "safeguard". Look for the clamps from a GlobalWin FKP32 and fit it on HSK. It looks like factory default, hold strong and you can`t damage the cooperfins with screws.

I hope this will help anyone who want OC the Celli.
Thx a lot to all who help me working my Celli@1333MHz.:burn:
