Media Player lock up

Windows Media Player keeps locking up.
It keeps playing the music but I can't change the song or the volume because the GUI has locked up. I have all the updates, I have been through the options section. Do you guys have any suggestions?

I also have latest onboard audio drivers.

try reinstalling it - I had something similiar - crashes - not lockups - and reinstalling helped !
