I have an NEC 3520A and a 3540A and I am wanting to upgrade to something else. I have been having a lot of problems with them not wanting to read and having errors. Looking for top of the line as I burn a lot of DVD's.

Have a look at the Plextors. I've never had a problem with them. A bit on the pricey side but as they say, you get what you pay for...

edit: If you havn't already, you might want to run a cleaning disc through the NECs.

I actually just looked at the 8MB cache ones on Newegg, 104 a piece. Seriously thinking about getting them.
