I'll soon be running an FX-55 on my Epox 9NDA3+, with intentions of buying an SLI mobo in the next 4 weeks.Right now I have 2x512 Patriot PC3200(TCCD) w/XBL 2-2-2-5 sticks. Is this the best RAM for the new CPU, and eventually new mobo? If not, what reccommendations would you make?

That depend on what kinds of things will you be using this computer for?

I'll be using the computer for mainly gaming and benchmarking.Right now I have the RAM in my sig running at 280 2.8v 3-4-4-8 stable. What RAM would people suggest(and dont choose the most expensive RAM please, something in the $75-15- range for 2x512mb sticks is good)?

I was thinking of 2gb kit instead of 1gb kit for gaming ...
for gaming it will feel much better !

Instead of starting a new thread for this question I might as well post it in this one as it is slightly similar . . .
With my rig (info in my signature) would an extra 1GB of ram make any difference to the speed of my system when running multiply programs (mainly media)?
Thanks

Well for that price not much that you can get. My best suggestion for you would be to stick with what you have right now and save your money for 2GB kit. You will need about $90 more to get G-Skill HZ's which are one of the best DDR 2GB kits on the market for the price and perfromance.

Running multiple programs is CPU heavy so your best bet would be to invest in Dual Core proc, either X2 or Opteron 165 and up series. Extra RAM will help but not if your CPU is a bottleneck.

Can you post a link to those G-Skill sticks please? I can always sell my current RAm and add that profit to the $150 I was willing to spend if it will make that much of a difference...but if it wont, then I'd rather not spend over $200 on RAM.

yeah too bad i didnt snag a pack of those back when the price was 150...170 or 180 or whatever they are now is still a pretty solid deal, but it would be a little sweeter if they dropped the price back down to 150

I got mine for $150, but the price goes up and down almost daily so you need to keep an eye on it before you buy it.
Even at $170 these are worth every penny and with Micron out of the way these latest UCCC revisions are the best stuff that you can get when speaking of 2GB kits so there is no need for you to look elsewhere. They easily scale to 280MHz mark and don't go over 2.8V on Vdimm.
What else can you ask for
