what's the difference between these rads besides the thickness?

is the second one like a generic version of a BIX?

they are nearly the same other than one of them is about 2 CM thicker ( the second link) sp yes it would be like a bix3

so, the second would cool better, but with higher cfm fans, and the first would cool better with lower cfm fans?

Yes I think that was the point that thorilan was getting at, although I wouldn't expect as big of a difference as you see between the IX and the IP rads, where the difference in thickness is painfully obvious. IMO the 2 rads probably perform within 1 or 2c of each other using the same fans.

Actually, IIRC the coolingworks rad would perform better with weaker fans, I believe it has a 12FPI rating or so. The coolingworks rad should outperform the BIP.

Probably not even enough to notice it in anything, maybe like 1 C max difference.
