i went and bought a spare computer (at fry during black friday for 100 bucks)
it's got:
2400+ sempron
intergrated graphic/sound
128mb of ram
keyboard/mouse/speakers. the junks
40gb HDD
CD ROM

since then i've put in
RADION 9250 256MB 30 bucks (clearance at OD :))
2 X 512MB of PCI 3200 RAM (i got them for 60 bucks long time ago, been laying at my box doing nothing)
USB wireless G (10 bucks at fry)
120GB HDD (again trashy item laying around)
USB SOUND CARD (Phillips 805) (also laying around)

after all that, i realized the psu that comes with it has a rating of 250W.. now i'm scare. I'm also planing to slap in a DVD RW that i have laying around, and maybe another HDD. Also want to change the stock fan for some zalman and adding in a fan controler along with 2 X 80mm fans (cuzz the stock fan is freakgin loud)

It's so getto. but i have all that crap laying around. and i just got an acer 17" LCD for 150AR at staple. And a 350W antec PSU. I kindda want to swap out the stock PSU for the antec but it's alot of work with the rewirering and stuff (i'm a neat freak)... all for a spare rig.

Lemme guess, it's a no-name 250w? I wouldn't trust it any further than I can throw it. Install a name-brand 350-400w and you should be just fine. That 350w Antec should work great. I've got a 350w Antec powering a similiar rig for almost 3 years and it's doing great.

If it doesent brownout durring load it works.
I too would be doubtfull... but if you ran everything at stock speeds and maybe drop the Vcore a bit on the CPU... power draw might be droped enough to make it workable.

*Tip: rip a CD while gaming and running prime to draw max amperage*
