Long time no see you on the Forum. Noticed that you are down to 2 crunchers again, what happened? Was away for a bit myself, hospital ect, got back to find I was offered the Blue Stars:D
My sincere congrats on the blue stars! I noticed them yesterday for the first time, but guessed that must have happened long time ago.
Indeed I'm back to 2 crunchers full-time (my 500@800 and 300). BUT I also have a duron 700 and celeron366 crunching undercover. These are 2 computers from the chemistry group, which I am administrator of (we have 4 computers in total, 1 is a 486, the other is broken right now). About the PII266's, little chance I get them all back crunching, but I will give it a shot when I've got some spare time, the systemwide anonymous login has been reactivated
I've been experimenting with running SETI as a backgroundservice. For the newbies around: run it without any windows or tray icons open. I've tested it on Win2K ( ;) ) and it works quite nicely for the client only, but it gets complicated when you are running spy and driver too.
At this moment the 2 extra computers described above are my testing computers. I've been running seti there as service for about a week now and results look interesting! No complaints yet about performance (we have a saying in the netherlands which says: what the eye doesn't see doesn't bother the heart).
When I have the support for driver and spy sorted out, and am sure SETI throttle's back when your computer needs power (med/low priority), I will write some guide or article about it.
Very soon I will hit 4000 WU, guest I will celebrate in this thread. Thanx for the warm welcome, I'm back to stay, certainly after the next rig has arrived! Greetings, crunch on everyone!

Hmmm. I have been experimenting myself, and have come up with a plan. Since our school computers image themselfs everytime they shut down I was loosing major CPU time, not to mention work units. I then took several seti folders and renamed them to seti1 seti2...etc. I then access my mp3 server, which they are stored on, and ran everything stealth...aka no tray icon. I have seti spy in there, so I don't even have to go down to the lab to see the percent done. Just go into my mp3 server, then go into the folder i want to watch. You might want to think about doing this. Just a thought.
