Duron 800 overclock 2nd try ?

Iwill kv200r mobo has 200 fsb duron 8oo @ 888 [used microstepping only] kingston ram 512 megs @ 133 voodoo 3 3000 [166 factory set] im @ 182 ibm deskstar 20 gig. 350 w/powersupply sk6 heatsink w/8cm delta fan blueorb on voodoo Ihave o/c to 906mhz but my system becomes unstable.Blue screens errors ect. ect. Oh ya temp. is 28c. @ idle & full load is 38c. 3dmark 2001 is 1477. duron is not unlocked. what can i do to get a better o/c ? Thanks for all your help !!!!

why not unlock it? connect the L7 bridges to give you the max voltage, that will get you stable but watch your temp, best to keep it below 50

Thanks ill try this & see what happens ! Is there any adjust ments i should make in the bios after this or just keep on microstepping ?

i'm not sure what you mean by microstepping, you mean fsb (front size bus) normally, the higher the fsb the better, it would make everything in your computer faster, but there is a certain limit. You should download prime95 to test your stability.

microstepping is adjusting the clock speed.factory is 100 im at 111 it gives me 8 mhz each time i add 1 100 101 102 ect. the only other adjustment i have is called vio voltage ? and where do i find prime 95 ? thanks again for all your help !!!

hey guys i just got my duron 700 at 147 fsb what do you guys think i havn't tried for more yet but it has been running stable with no lock ups for 8 hours so far :)

im not sure ? im just starting to lean how to do this . but for what its worth . my fsb speed is 2x112 mhz [224mhz datarate] ram is at 149 mhz using 133. core voltage 1.66.im at 892 mhz on a duron 800 spitfire. so your doing better than i am so far .but i'll keep trying !!!!!!!!!!!!i good luck

I think that your main problem with not getting much higher than that is you said your ram is running at 149 Mhz. My ASUS A7V133 mobo has the option to run my ram as the same speed as the front side bus, or it can be seperate to run 33 Mhz higher. (I'd only make it 33 Mhz higher if I was running the CPU at default speed, 8x100, so the ram would be 133.) I had some Kingston ram once and it did not like around 115 FSB or higher at cas 2. I recenly bought some Crucial and it runs great right now at 125 Mhz cas 2. So that leads me to believe that your problem is your ram is running too high for its rated speed. What cas latency are you running the ram at?

ok i just cranked it up to 150 fsb :) wow im impressed i never thought id get it up this high this is weird a week ago i wasn't able to get past 136 stable i wonder what is going on here 975mhz now .

I recently got a golden duron.. I was building a computer for my grandma, and i was messing around and decided to try to overclock her Duron 800. It only had a standard generic heatsink. but I thought i would give it a try.. 133FSB at 1066mhz,,, no problem.. kept bumping it up. got all the way to 1166mhz! at 1.75v and generic heatsink! i wanted to keep the processor after that. but couldnt leave grandma out in the cold.. plus i have my Athlong 1333mhz @ 1566mhz anyways.. so... i gave it away.. *sigh, what a waste of processor, i can only wonder what i could have gotten it up to with more time and a watercooling system...

ryzfactor : sdram cycle length is 3 dram clock ic hostclock+33 .Im going to change sdram cycle length to 2 & d ram clock to hostclock . hope this works . thank you !
