Newegg has refurbed Big Typhoons for $35 + $1.00 3 day UPS (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835106061R).

I picked one up. I figure anything bad on it should be obvious, so if it's bad I can return it.

Refurbed sinks don't come with accessories ( mounting hardware) just the heatsink itself.

The main page doesn't mention anything either way. The pictures shown are from the NEW version of this item. If you purchase this Refurbished product you will receive an OEM BAREBONE, meaning it is just the item itself. Accessory items are NOT INCLUDED with Refurbished products. Accessories are shown in the pictures so that customers will know what is missing from the item.

Stuff usually does but sometimes doesnt, as ECS said your taking a chance.
I doubt its a "refurb" probably a returned one.

ummm I've ordered 10 for my friends and they've all come with hardware. When they get stuff in they send it back to the company to be "refurbished" which means make sure it works and repackaged. It is definatly a good deal.

I went ahead and reordered it. It actually went down in price to $33.99 with free 3-day from UPS.

I guess if it doesn't include the hardware I can return it or find someone that saved the LGA775 mounting bracket from theres and buy it from them.

sometimes you get hardware, sometimes you don't. they say it comes with nothing because it may very well come with nothing... that's the only reason they state that.

Everytime I've ordered refurb HSF's, it came with everything.

Just a heads up. I'd take the chance, and if it didn't work out, I'd purchase the hardware from TT.

I have one on order, I'll post if I get mounting hardware or not. It seems silly to sell a 'refurbished' heatsink without mounting hardware...maybe they think the user will just hold it on the CPU?? haha

Got it in just now. Came packed in standard retail box with all new hardware. In fact, everything looks all new, doesn't have the slightest indication of use.

Man, all the warning about just how large this thing is don't do it justice or prepare you. I never imagined something so huge. But it couldn't have come any sooner. Now that summer has hit my area, my pc temps are up about 4-5C idle. Hopefully this helps.
