I was wondering if it wouldbe possible to change memory from say a Voodoo 4500, to a TNT1? I have a broke 4500, and my tnt 1 still works, I was wondering if I could take the emmory off the 4500 and stick it on my tnt. I am an experienced solderer...
I just want to know if it can be done?

I dont think thats possible ...
Its like you can't stick slot computers into sockets and such.. But I'm not too sure about my answer we'll have to let others reply..
Since the 4500 is a way newer generation than the TNT 1 which would have to use way better ram than the TNT1.

Yeah, I mean Ram is unversal isn't it? Both cards are SDRAM so I should be able to switch the chips and have no problems? theoretically, I think anyway?

Default is right they're both very cheap graphic cards ... So its not much of a loss if you don't care about the TNT.
If they're the same type of memory I can't figure why not... hell, that would make for an interesting mod :D. You may want to make sure there's no voltage changes between the cards, etc... If you succeed you might save some other people time/trouble... if you fail, well you'd still accomplish that ;).

Yeah I looked at the cards and there is a problem. The tnt has 8 memory chips, and the 4500 only has 4, the 4500 has 32megs, and the tnt has 16. I don't know to hook it up exactly... hmmm
